The long-running dispute between the government and the holiday apartment operators apppears to be on the way to being resolved. Holiday apartments were never fully covered by the General Law on Tourist Accommodation of 1999. This law mandated that ALL tourist accommodation in Andorra should be classified as Public Places, which is of course an impossibility in the case of private apartment accommodation. The Government now appears to have accepted that there was a lack of legal definition in the case of private holiday accommodation and there is now a Bill before the Council-General that will regulate all private holiday accommodation. This should become law within the next few months and we shall be the first to let you know about it.
